The Garden is Growing.

Well, an update on the growing garden. We have radishes, carrots, two varieties of lettuce, broccolli, peppers, potatoes and then YES, the corn has taken off!!!
We are very happy to see this corn growing every day! It is quite a change from the seedlings we planted two months ago!!!

Don has been on the internet finding how the corn polinates. Anyone out there have any suggestions??

Also, I had to include the picture I took of a SOD roof?!?!?! I had the opportunity to get real close, the owner was finishing cutting the grass.
My next project is to paint the outside of the house,
WISH ME LUCK!!!

The Winter Wood is here

Well, yes........ the winter wood is here. A little later than normal.

After the delivery we realized that it is some of the driest wood we have ever got!! We are very lucky, the last few years the wood was still a bit wet. Don will be busy every evening for the next few weeks..

Our new AIR CONDITIONER

Well, the heat here is kikkin our behinds. It is not really 114, but that is what it shows. So its my story, so I'm gonna tell it. As you can also see, the indoor temp, gets very warm, also.

I like to leave the doors open at night and cool the house down,

But, it gets about 63, so in the mornings, Don doesn't like that too much. We have had a hard time coming to a happy medium. On Thursday when Don came home from work, he had bought an
AIR CONDITIONER.
Yes, we are now the proud owners of an
AIR CONDITIONER!!!
It has a hose thingy that exhausts out the window and it sets on the floor in the living room and does its thing. I can tell where I'll be tommorow afternoon, IN FRONT OF IT!!!!
OH, and our corn is diggin its new home. As you can see it is flourishing fine. We have counted about 23 stalks, and everyday it seems like it grows inches.

I had the opportunity, last week to watch Dylan. He really likes to come over and play. Here he is Painting the sidewalk, with water.
And then he likes a new swing, I got at a yard sale. He is almost too big for it. But he will swing for hours at a time. Sometimes he will just hang in there with no one pushing him. And sometimes he will just nod off,
when I try to get him out to nap
he wakes up and wants more!!

Grandkids are a blessing.

Our vacation, Camping on the Clearwater.

Well, our one week vacation is now over........We had a super time, and the weather held out for us. Because of all the rain we had, the water was high and we were able to see several waterfalls that are normally smaller. This one was my favorite, because it was next to the road. I was able to wade out for this marvelous shot!!!!! Paparazzi !!
Our dog, Roxy, made the trip on the 4 wheeler just fine.

Don all loaded up with the gear, and fishin poles.

Another few waterfalls, made our journey of 60+ miles very enjoyable... Because of all the water the fishing was slower than normal. But I was able to land 10 and of course
Don caught over 20. The country is just BEAUTIFUL.

My Garden Challenges

One month of rain, I think we should build an ark, or buy a boat. LOL, This is one of my favorite pictures that I took one night while we were in the hot tub. Still need help on putting pictures on my blog spot. Didn't mean to put it on twice. Maybe someone should call me and talk me through it.

This picture is of my 3 new burning bushes!! I have had to dig and dig and dig and dig. There were rocks, rocks, boulders, boulders, and several chunks of concrete. Many days and hours of labor went into this, but now it looks professional and finished!

We know better than to plant before Memorial Day!! We had had a wonderful warm spring, and the snow had melted off of the rock slide{ a local wives tale } and the tomato plants, we had bought from the Middle Schools Greenhouse were already 2 feet tall. So they got their new home! Two nights later in came the:
FREEZE WARNING!!!!

I did go out and cover all the new plants, they got covered with my sheets. Some got the cotton and some got the flannel. Well, that did not do the trick. It got too cold for the sheets to do any good. ~~~BUMMER~~They did not do well at all. But, the corn we started in the house from seed, we had covered with an older plastic tablecloth that is next to the house made it fine. The picture on lower right is the one with the frozen plants.

This morning, I have taken pictures of the 2 newer and improved tomato plants the one on the far right we will see if it will ever do anything. But after a MONTH of rain you can see our new growth. We have potatoes, radishes, corn, lettuce, peppers, broccoli, beans and basil. We leave in a few days for a week, we will see what they look like, after the trip.

Lance on the job!!

Finally, a few more pictures of Lance at work. He sure likes his line of work. He says everyday is a new adventure. OF COURSE, as a Mom, I worry daily for his safety. Having a good crew is very important. His wife is finishing her teaching year in Lake Havasu, and will move down to Southern Calif., to be with him.

He always likes when they put poles in with the helicopters, probably another dream of his.

Fishing Season opens & $80 cabins for rent.

Well, as you can see I dont know how to adjust the pictures accordingly. But, I will tell you about my last weekend. We had the opportunity to go to LAKE MARY RONAN, in Montana. It was their opening weekend for blue back fish. These cabins go for $80 a night and up. This one we were able to share, was $80 a night. There is no running water in the cabins, the bathrooms are about 50 steps away, and a shower is only $2 and $3 if you need a towel. The weather turned out to be just fine. But my favorite part was the view from the front porch, which was beautiful!!!!
We brought home about 35 fish, which we will have smoked and then eat cold. YUMMY!!!

I hope next year if we go, we can take our own camper. It was all in all a great trip. The other couples that went were so much fun.

Well the week has gone by too fast. I decided one morning that I was going to repaint, and redecorate our master bathroom. Quite the suprise for Don when he came home from work that day. OOPS, didn't tell him first!
Wanted to share some new photos. The puppy is Brandon & Jennifers new addition, her name is SOPHIE. She is very cute? I was sent the picture of Brandons White Dodge-with wagon attached. He want to know DOES THIS TRAILOR MAKE MY TRUCK LOOK FAT????
And then Dustin and his buddy wanted to go 4 wheelin out of town, OH SURE, they figured a way to get the 4 wheeler in the caravan. Do these pictures qualify them to be called "IDAHO REDNECKS?"

Okay, I can probably answer that one.
