This picture is of my 3 new burning bushes!! I have had to dig and dig and dig and dig. There were rocks, rocks, boulders, boulders, and several chunks of concrete. Many days and hours of labor went into this, but now it looks professional and finished!
We know better than to plant before Memorial Day!! We had had a wonderful warm spring, and the snow had melted off of the rock slide{ a local wives tale } and the tomato plants, we had bought from the Middle Schools Greenhouse were already 2 feet tall. So they got their new home! Two nights later in came the:
FREEZE WARNING!!!!
I did go out and cover all the new plants, they got covered with my sheets. Some got the cotton and some got the flannel. Well, that did not do the trick. It got too cold for the sheets to do any good. ~~~BUMMER~~They did not do well at all. But, the corn we started in the house from seed, we had covered with an older plastic tablecloth that is next to the house made it fine. The picture on lower right is the one with the frozen plants.
This morning, I have taken pictures of the 2 newer and improved tomato plants the one on the far right we will see if it will ever do anything. But after a MONTH of rain you can see our new growth. We have potatoes, radishes, corn, lettuce, peppers, broccoli, beans and basil. We leave in a few days for a week, we will see what they look like, after the trip.
